J and J Auction Services has been in business for over twenty years. The business is family owned and operated.

Their first sale was held on May 1, 1981, in the parking lot of Wagner Hardware, Hazleton, PA. In June of that same year, they decided to use a tent for a another sale. They pitched the tent in some swamp land and of course it rained less than twenty-four hours before the sale took place.

Having learned their lesson the hard way, they rented space in a West Hazleton building where they remained until purchasing the Sheppton location in November of 1986.

J and J Auction Services continually strives to improve their business and services. In 1998, they went high tech and began to use computers. In 2001, they finally heeded the advice of their very wise and intelligent clerk who nagged them for years to join the rest of the world online.
